Originally named The Pavilion Hotel (circa 1830), it was the gathering spot of area artists, writers and craftsmen. Edgar Allen Poe chose our historic Charleston inn as his weekly retreat while a soldier stationed at Fort Moultrie. Today The King Charles Inn maintains this significant historical ambiance, while providing its guests with premium services and amenities. The King Charles Inn is happy to announce our room enhancement project. From January 21 through February 28 we will be remodeling the rooms at the hotel. During this time period, one wing of the hotel will be closed. We apologize for this inconvenience - however the management and staff are very pleased to have the opportunity to improve your favorite Charleston hotel.
